Counseling

Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, I worked for 27+ years as a Physical Therapist, earning a Doctorate in 2018. As a PT, my areas of expertise included chronic pain, chronic disease, women’s health and disability. Working with these populations, I became increasingly aware of how mental health and trauma can impact one’s health and healing. This realization along with my lifelong love of yoga led me to obtain certifications in Professional Yoga Therapy, and Integrative Women’s Health Coaching.

I believe we each have an innate capacity to heal, grow and transform. As a mental health counselor, I am dedicated to working alongside clients to facilitate deeper understanding of their personal life story, and reconnect with their inner strengths, resources, and resilience in order to successfully navigate life’s inevitable challenges.

I utilize a compassionate, strength-based approach tailored to the unique needs of each individual. My treatment approach includes evidence-based counseling strategies such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, psychodynamic and interpersonal therapies along with elements of yoga, mindfulness, and somatic awareness all within a safe, trauma-informed container.

I work with late teens through adults, including individuals and couples. Although I have a strong interest in women’s health, neurodiversity and individuals with disabilities, all are welcome!
